Interaction Recruitment are working exclusively with an MSP in Cambridgeshire and are looking for a Technical Expert to join their existing team and work alongside the service desk on a temporary to permanent basis, ideally with some valuable experienced gained in a previous MSP.

As a Technical Expert, you will also work alongside the projects, change and critical department and become the front of all knowledge of a designated group of assigned customers, understanding in-depth the systems, applications and infrastructure that is supported.

You will be required to carry out occasional visits to customer sites across the UK, which may require some overnight stays, full travel expenses will be paid, and you will have full access to a company pool car. Due to this, you MUST hold a full UK Driving Licence.

Key responsibilities:

  • To learn an understand your designated customers infrastructures and systems

  • Produce knowledge-based articles for the service desk for them to be able to fully support customers as best they can

  • Deploy new systems and hardware to customer sites

  • Advise service desk analysts and field service technicians on diagnosis and resolution steps for issues that exceed their skillset

  • Propose improvements to customer infrastructures/systems, reporting summary and findings to the Technical Director



Key skills:

  • Windows Server (2008 R2 - 2019) build and configuration

  • Exchange Service build and configuration

  • Virtualisation (Hyper-V, VMware)

  • Networking (Wi-Fi, LAN, WAN, VPN, DHCP, DNS)

  • VoIP implementation (Specifically 3CX is desirable)

  • MDM systems (Maas360 is desirable)

  • Backup technologies (Symantec/Backup Exec)



This is a highly dynamic position so the successful candidate but be able to demonstrate the ability to be diverse and understand a wide range of technologies and infrastructure solutions from their previous experience, with at least 5 years’ in a 2nd Line support position with some project implementation experience.
