Warehouse Operative – Temporary Role (Potential Permanent Opportunity)

Location: North Chailey East Sussex
Hours: Monday to Friday
Shift Options: 7:00am – 4:00pm or 8:00am – 5:00pm
Duration: Initial 2-week temporary assignment with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate

About the Role

We are currently looking for a hard working and reliable Warehouse Operative to join our client’s busy warehouse team. This is a physically demanding role that requires someone who is fit, motivated, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

The main duties involve unloading pallets, transferring goods onto new pallets, and securely wrapping them ready for dispatch. Some items can be heavy, including sacks of pet food weighing up to 20kg, so manual handling experience and physical fitness are essential.

The role also includes accurate order picking, packing products into boxes for shipment, and ensuring all work is completed to a high standard within set productivity targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Unloading incoming pallets safely and efficiently
• Re-palletising stock onto new pallets
• Wrapping pallets securely for storage or dispatch
• Handling heavy goods, including pet food sacks up to 20kg
• Meeting productivity targets of approximately 5 pallets per hour
• Picking customer orders accurately and quickly
• Packing orders securely into boxes ready for shipping
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
• Following all health and safety procedures at all times
• What We’re Looking For
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling throughout the shift
• Previous warehouse experience preferred but not essential
• Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
• Reliable, punctual, and hard working attitude
• Strong attention to detail for accurate order picking and packing
• Good team player with a positive approach to work
• PPE Requirements
• Steel toe cap safety boots are essential
• High visibility vest can be provided if required

Opportunity

This is initially a 2-week temporary role; however, for the right candidate who demonstrates strong performance and reliability, there may be an opportunity for a permanent position.
