Interaction Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Branch Manager from a builders merchant background to join their busy client on a full-time permanent basis.

Salary: £36k to £38k per annum (DOE)

This role involves:

• supporting the Branch Manager in the day-to-day running of the branch
• acting as Branch Manager in their absence
• providing knowledgeable, friendly and dependable service to customers
• optimising branch sales and profit
• working closely with the team to ensure customer expectations are exceeded
• building strong relationships with customers to understand their requirements
• ensuring the correct products are supplied in line with customer needs
• identifying sales opportunities and offering advice and solutions
• liaising with suppliers, other branches and departments where necessary
• ensuring sales paperwork is processed accurately in line with company policy
• maintaining a clean, tidy and well merchandised branch environment
• supporting stock-taking and placing orders with suppliers
• contacting customers where required
• ensuring compliance with company procedures and Health & Safety guidelines
• supporting colleagues to ensure the branch operates efficiently and effectively

To be considered for this role you must have / be:

• previous experience within a builders merchant
• management or supervisory experience within a branch environment
• strong customer service skills
• commercially aware with the ability to drive sales and profit
• organised with good attention to detail
• confident leading a team in the Branch Manager’s absence
• computer literate
• a strong team player
• knowledge of building materials / construction supplies
