Interaction Education are pleased to be supporting a great school in the Greenwich area, in their search for a Safeguarding officer to join the team on a long term, temporary contract.

This role would suit someone who has previous experience in a safeguarding role, particularly within the school setting. The successful candidate will also need a DBS on the update service.

The key responsibilities for this role can be found below:

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the main point of contact for safeguarding issues

• Receive, record, and respond to concerns or disclosures in line with policy

• Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are up to date and effectively implemented

• Provide advice, training, and support to staff and volunteers

• Liaise with external agencies, including social services and the police, when required

• Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure compliance with legislation

• Promote a culture of safety, vigilance, and accountability

Skills & Experience:

• Experience in a safeguarding, social care, education, or support role

• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practice

• Excellent communication, judgement, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

• Training in safeguarding (e.g., DSL/CPD-level) preferred
