Pay Rate: £13.50 per hour
Job Type: Temporary – Ongoing
Hours: Full-time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm (1-hour unpaid lunch break)

About the Role

Our client is currently recruiting for reliable and hardworking Yard Operatives to join their busy waste and recycling operation based in Baldock.

This is an ongoing temporary position working on a busy recycling picking line. You will be responsible for sorting and separating recyclable materials, removing non-recyclable items and supporting the smooth running of the site.

The role is physically demanding and involves working on your feet for the majority of the day in an industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Working on a recycling picking line.
• Sorting and separating recyclable materials.
• Identifying and removing non-recyclable materials.
• Maintaining a clean and safe working area.
• Carrying out general yard and recycling duties.
• Working safely around machinery and site vehicles.
• Following all health and safety procedures.
• Supporting the wider team with the smooth running of the site.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in recycling, waste management, warehouse, manufacturing or yard environments is beneficial but not essential.
• Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work.
• Comfortable working on a picking line for extended periods.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.
• Able to work well as part of a team.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own transport.
