Production Team Lead
Working Hours: Initially Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, with a planned transition to overnight operations (10:00pm to 6:00am) during 2026.
Role Overview
- Provide leadership and direction to production and warehousing teams, ensuring daily operations run safely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives.
- Build a high-performing team culture through coaching, performance management, accountability, and employee development.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational performance, quality standards, safety, service levels, and team engagement.
- Foster positive working relationships across departments through effective communication and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor production and warehouse activities, escalating potential risks or obstacles that could impact operational targets.
- Promote a strong health and safety culture by ensuring team members adhere to company policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support, mentor, and develop employees through regular feedback, objective setting, and performance reviews.
- Maintain high standards of workplace organisation, inventory accuracy, operational discipline, and customer service.
- Encourage a collaborative and respectful working environment while supporting HR, quality, environmental, and financial objectives.
- Track and report operational performance using internal systems and performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, and team effectiveness.
- Coordinate closely with colleagues and supervisors to ensure smooth shift handovers and operational continuity.
- Oversee attendance, punctuality, productivity, and overall team performance.
Skills & Experience
- Full UK driving licence.
- Forklift Truck (FLT) certification advantageous but not essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and operational planning or inventory management systems.
- Proven ability to work towards deadlines and performance targets.
- Resilient, adaptable, and able to remain composed under pressure.
- Positive attitude with a strong team-oriented approach.
- Experience within manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or production environments.
- Knowledge of specialist raw materials or process manufacturing would be beneficial.
