Class 2 HGV Driver

We are currently looking for an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team, working on a dedicated delivery contract

This role is ideal for a professional driver who has experience operating an 18-tonne curtain-sided rigid vehicle, understands the importance of load security, and takes pride in providing a reliable and professional delivery service.

The Role

• Driving an 18-tonne full curtain-sided rigid vehicle.

• Delivering exclusively to Howdens stores.

• Approximately 8–12 deliveries per day, depending on location and route.

• 06:00 start time.

• Load security is a key responsibility, with ratchet strap experience essential.

• Maintaining a professional and courteous approach when representing the company at customer locations.

What We're Looking For

• A valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.

• Relevant professional driving experience.

• Previous experience driving curtain-sided vehicles is essential.

• Experience using ratchet straps and securing loads safely.

• Good knowledge of drivers' hours and road safety requirements.

• Excellent time-management and organisational skills.

• Reliable, punctual and professional.

• Good communication skills, particularly when reporting delays or issues to the office.

• A strong focus on safe and compliant driving.

Class 2 HGV Driver – White Goods Deliveries

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 HGV driver to join our White Goods delivery operation.

This is a multi-drop role delivering to a variety of business customers, rather than residential addresses. The successful driver will need to be comfortable with manual handling, confident securing loads, and able to provide a professional service to customers throughout the day.

The Role

• Driving either an 18-tonne box rigid vehicle with tail lift or a 7.5-tonne vehicle with tail lift.

• Delivering white goods to business customers — no residential/home deliveries.

• Customers with booked delivery times will be identified at the start of the working day.

• Sack barrows and pump trucks are provided to assist with deliveries.

• Ensuring all loads are properly and securely restrained.

What We're Looking For

• A valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.

• Experience with load security and safe load restraint.

• Comfortable carrying out manual handling and using equipment such as sack barrows and pump trucks.

• Good time-management skills and the ability to work to customer booking slots.

• Reliable, punctual and professional.

• Good communication skills and the ability to report issues accurately.
