Our client, a leading international centre of excellence in furniture testing and innovation, is currently seeking a Furniture Technician to join their expert team in Kettering on a part-time basis.

They work with top-tier suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers to ensure furniture products meet British, European, and international standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a respected organisation that sets the benchmark for quality and safety in the furniture industry.

🛠️ Role Overview

As a Furniture Technician, you’ll play a key role in supporting testing operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and conditioning furniture samples for testing
  • Assisting in physical testing of items such as mattresses, tables, cabinets, and seating
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in laboratory areas
  • Coordinating testing schedules with clients and the Head of Furniture
  • Accurately completing and maintaining training records

👤 What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • GCSEs in Maths, English & Science (Grade C / Grade 5 or above)
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive, flexible, and proactive attitude

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience in the furniture industry
  • Familiarity with consumer product testing
  • Forklift truck experience
