Assistant Warehouse Manager
Salary: £32,000 – £37,000 DOE
My client is currently looking for an experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to join their well-established and growing business.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Team Leader or Assistant Manager who is looking to take the next step in their career.
Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, supporting the team, coordinating workloads and ensuring orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time.
This is a hands-on role, so my client is looking for someone who is confident leading a team while also being happy to get involved with the day-to-day warehouse operation.
The Role
- Support the Warehouse Manager with the daily running of the warehouse
- Lead, motivate and support the warehouse team
- Plan and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- Oversee the accurate receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of stock
- Maintain stock accuracy and investigate discrepancies
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping, organisation and health & safety
- Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth warehouse operations
- Support quality and compliance procedures
- Maintain accurate stock records and product traceability
- Assist with internal and external audits
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes and efficiency
- Provide cover for the Warehouse Manager when required
- Lead by example and maintain a hands-on approach within the warehouse
- Operate both Flexi and Counterbalance forklifts as required
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience within a warehouse supervisory, team leader or management position
- Experience leading and motivating a warehouse team
- Valid Flexi and Counterbalance forklift licences
- Recent experience operating both Flexi and Counterbalance forklifts
- Strong organisational and workload planning skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Good IT skills and strong attention to detail
- A proactive and hands-on approach
- Good understanding of health & safety and quality standards
Desirable:
- Experience within packaging, manufacturing, distribution or logistics
- Experience working within a quality-controlled or regulated warehouse environment
- Experience with stock management and warehouse systems
Package
- £32,000 – £37,000 depending on experience
- 23 days' holiday plus bank holidays
