Field Service Engineer (Packaging & Automation Equipment)

£37,000 - £40,000 Basic + Door-to-Door Pay + Overtime (OTE £47,000 - £52,000)

Interaction Technical is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer on behalf of a leading supplier of packaging and end-of-line automation equipment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically and electrically minded engineer to join a well-established business that continues to grow across the manufacturing, warehousing, logistics and distribution sectors. You'll be working on a variety of automated packaging machinery, carrying out installations, servicing, maintenance and breakdown support at customer sites throughout the UK.

Overtime Rates

• Monday to Friday after 5:00pm - Standard hourly rate
• Saturday until 12:00pm - Time and a Half
• Saturday after 12:00pm and Sunday - Double Time

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for supporting customers across the UK, ensuring machinery remains operational, reliable and running efficiently.

Duties Include:

• Mechanical and electrical fault finding
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Emergency breakdown response and repair
• Machinery installation and commissioning
• Equipment upgrades and optimisation
• Customer technical support and training
• Completion of service reports and job documentation

Equipment You'll Be Working On

• Pallet wrapping machines
• Stretch wrapping systems
• Robotic wrapping equipment
• Turntable and rotary arm wrappers
• Conveyor systems
• Strapping and banding machinery
• End-of-line packaging and automation equipment

What We're Looking For

• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding experience
• Background working on industrial machinery, automation, packaging equipment, conveyors, processing machinery or manufacturing equipment
• Previous field service experience is advantageous but not essential
• Engineering qualification (Level 3 or equivalent)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Willingness to travel nationwide with occasional overnight stays
