Senior CCTV Drainage Engineer

Salary: £17.50-£18.50 per hour (£36,400-£38,480 basic)
Average Earnings: £50,000-£60,000+ per annum
Location: Gateshead, Tyne and Wear
Hours: Monday-Friday | 40 hours per week | Day Shift with Flexible Start & Finish Times
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x hourly rate after 40 hours
Callout Rota: 1 in 5 paid at £135-£150 per week + callout bonus

A well-established engineering services company is seeking an experienced Senior CCTV Drainage Engineer to carry out detailed CCTV drainage surveys, inspections, fault diagnostics, and reporting across commercial, industrial, and utility-sector clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out CCTV drainage surveys on foul, surface water, and process drainage systems.
• Produce detailed survey reports using WinCan and associated industry-standard reporting software.
• Identify drainage defects including blockages, collapses, root ingress, structural failures, and infiltration issues.
• Accurately code defects and provide recommendations for remedial works.
• Operate and maintain CCTV crawler systems, push-rod systems, and associated survey equipment.
• Liaise directly with clients and site representatives, providing technical feedback and recommendations.
• Support drainage investigations, tracing, mapping, and condition assessment projects.
• Complete all survey reports, job documentation, and PDA records accurately.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures, environmental requirements, and client standards.
• Participate in the reactive callout rota as required.

What We're Looking For

• Experience working as a CCTV Drainage Engineer, Drainage Surveyor, or Senior Drainage Engineer.
• Strong understanding of drainage systems and CCTV inspection methodologies.
• Experience using WinCan or similar drainage reporting software.
• Knowledge of MSCC5 coding standards preferred.
• Ability to accurately interpret drainage defects and produce detailed technical reports.
• Full UK Driving Licence essential.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage survey activities effectively.
• Flexible approach to overtime and participation in the callout rota.
• OS19X, Confined Space, High Pressure Water Jetting, and NRSWA qualifications are advantageous but not essential as full training can be provided.
