Chef de Partie – School Catering
We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our busy and friendly school catering team.
Working alongside a team of 4 chefs and 6 kitchen assistants, you will help prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for approximately 450-500 pupils each day.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who enjoys working in a structured environment with sociable hours and takes pride in delivering great food for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and carry out daily food preparation.
- Assist with the cooking and service of meals for around 450+pupils.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Follow food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures at all times.
- Work efficiently as part of a large, supportive kitchen team.
- Help with kitchen cleaning and organisation as required.
Working Hours
- Between Monday to Sunday, on a rota, weekends will be included
- Shifts are typically 06:30 – 14.30 or 11:30 – 19:30
- 40 hours per week 52 weeks of the year
- Your time off is most likely be Christmas, Easter, Half Terms & some of the summer break
- Enhanced overtime is paid over 40h per week
- The salary is £32,000 - £32,500 per annum
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Chef de Partie or similar role within a school catering environment.
- Excellent food preparation and knife skills.
- The ability to work calmly and efficiently in a high-volume kitchen.
- A positive attitude and strong team-working skills.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety standards.
- An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one before employment).
