Security Engineer

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join our established team, carrying out the installation, servicing, maintenance, and fault diagnosis of electronic security systems throughout Leicestershire.

The role is primarily focused on intruder alarm systems, although experience with CCTV, access control, intercom, and fire alarm systems would be advantageous. The majority of our work is within the domestic sector, with additional projects across commercial and industrial environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer seeking local work, a manageable call-out commitment, and the chance to work as part of a professional and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding of intruder alarm systems.
  • Commissioning and testing of security systems.
  • Maintenance and repair of CCTV, access control, and intercom systems.
  • Occasional work on fire alarm systems.
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Ensuring all work is completed to industry standards and customer expectations.
  • Completing relevant service documentation and reports.
  • Providing a professional and customer-focused service at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Security Engineer.
  • Strong knowledge of intruder alarm systems.
  • Experience with CCTV, access control, and intercom systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and rectify faults independently.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be based within Leicestershire.

What We Offer

  • Basic salary of up to £41,800.
  • Overtime opportunities to increase earnings.
  • Additional call-out remuneration.
  • Company van provided.
  • All necessary power tools supplied.
  • 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Predominantly local work throughout Leicestershire.
  • Call-out rota of 1 week in every 7, helping to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
  • All out-of-hours calls are screened and filtered before escalation, resulting in very few call-outs.
