Structural Engineer (Steel Structures)

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyse steel structures, steel elements, and connections.
  • Produce and review detailed engineering calculations (including hand calculations).
  • Conduct site visits to assess existing structures, gather data, and provide engineering input.
  • Collaborate with design, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure the project’s success.
  • Prepare technical structural reports, structural drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes (Eurocodes), standards, and regulations.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication and site installation phases.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in structural steel design
  • Proficiency in STAAD Pro Structural Software.
  • Experience with Tekla Structures is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of structural analysis and connection design.
  • Competent in performing manual (hand) calculations for steel structures.
  • Good understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working on complex and/or large-scale steel projects.
  • Familiarity with fabrication and erection processes.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership (e.g., ICE/IStructE).
