Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Shift: 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 (Rotating) - Permanent Role

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on role for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer who enjoys solving real engineering problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll be keeping critical production equipment running, diagnosing faults under pressure, and driving improvements that directly reduce downtime and improve reliability.

If you’re confident working with PLC-controlled machinery, drives, and industrial systems—and you prefer being on the shop floor rather than behind a desk—this role offers strong variety and technical challenge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical and control faults
  • Troubleshoot PLC systems (Siemens & Mitsubishi)
  • Fault-find on drives (VFD/servo) and optimise performance
  • Maintain electro-hydraulic systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures (LOTO, interlocks)
  • Support extraction/ventilation systems
  • Carry out root cause analysis and implement improvements
  • Assist with upgrades and commissioning
  • Maintain documentation and provide clear shift handovers

Requirements

  • Strong industrial electrical experience (3-phase, control systems)
  • PLC fault-finding experience (Siemens/Mitsubishi preferred)
  • Experience with drives (VFD/servo systems)
  • Basic hydraulics knowledge
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Manufacturing or heavy industry background

Desirable

  • HNC/HND in Electrical/Controls/Mechatronics (or equivalent)
  • Experience with TIA Portal or GX Works
  • Electrical safety or hydraulics training

Working Environment

  • Heavy industrial environment (heat, noise)
  • Shop-floor based, hands-on role
  • Involvement in shutdowns and commissioning work
