Project Manager – Structural Steel

Pontypool | Permanent | £40,000 – £60,000 + Package

We’re working with a rapidly growing engineering business delivering high-profile structural steel and infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. Their portfolio includes major transport hubs such as Heathrow and Bristol Airports, national rail works, and complex architectural builds.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Pontypool and play a key role in delivering complex steelwork projects.


The Role

As Project Manager, you’ll bring structure, pace, and clarity to technically demanding projects. You will take ownership from initial planning through to final handover, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Manage the full lifecycle from initiation through to completion
  • Coordinate site activity, logistics, and subcontractors
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
  • Manage project risk, variations, and contractual performance
  • Support, guide, and mentor site teams

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in project management within structural steel or construction
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Commercial awareness and contract understanding
  • Proactive, solutions-focused mindset

What You’ll Be Doing in Your First Year

Month 1:

  • Get up to speed with live projects and delivery teams

Month 3:

  • Lead key workstreams, attend client meetings, and coordinate programmes

Month 6:

  • Take ownership of risk management, quality, and delivery outcomes

Month 12:

  • Establish yourself as a trusted leader driving successful project delivery
