Technologist – Quality Services

About the Role
We’re seeking a Technologist to join our Quality Services team — a small, expert group delivering high-quality audit and calibration services to customers across five continents. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine technical expertise with international travel, supporting laboratories worldwide in achieving and maintaining the highest testing standards.
As part of the team, you’ll conduct laboratory audits, perform equipment calibrations, and ensure compliance with recognised accreditation programmes and ISO 17025:2017 requirements. You’ll also play a key role in helping customers maintain accurate and reliable testing capabilities.
You’ll travel within the UK and overseas for up to 20 weeks per year, with trips ranging from single-day UK visits to multi-week assignments in destinations such as the United States, Brazil, Vietnam, and India. All travel costs are covered, and comprehensive training — including ISO 9001 and/or ISO 17025 Lead Auditor qualifications — will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Calibrate physical test equipment to meet customer specifications
Conduct audits of laboratories to internal and client standards
Assess laboratory staff performance in testing procedures
Produce audit reports and calibration certificates to tight deadlines
Manage multiple client projects, ensuring all requirements are met
Plan and organise international trips for maximum efficiency and profitability
Coordinate travel logistics (visas, accommodation, transport, etc.) when working as part of a team
Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth project delivery
Complete Leather Grading Accreditations
Promote and uphold high-quality standards in all customer interactions
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines technical ability with flexibility and strong interpersonal skills. You’ll need to be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, often in international settings.
Essential Requirements:
Willingness and ability to travel up to 20+ weeks per year
Strong technical or mechanical aptitude, with a proactive attitude to learning
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Confident communicator – able to support clients by phone, email, or in person
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Full UK driving licence and valid passport
Desirable Experience:
Previous auditing experience (ISO 9001 or ISO 17025)
Calibration or laboratory testing experience
Understanding of laboratory quality systems
Experience with international business travel
Practical/mechanical skills
Knowledge of additional languages (e.g. Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Thai)
