Job Title: Health and Safety Officer


Location: Scunthorpe 


Salary: 35-40k DOE


Contract Type: Full-time 9am-17pm Monday - Friday 

 

About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Officer to join our team. You will play a vital role in ensuring a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors by implementing and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, and produce reports with recommendations.
  • Deliver health and safety training and inductions.
  • Ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation.
  • Liaise with external bodies such as HSE and emergency services when required.
  • Promote a positive health and safety culture across the organization.

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience in a health and safety role, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Desirable:

  • Membership of IOSH or similar professional body.
  • Experience with health and safety software or reporting tools.
