Interaction Recruitment are working with a leading specialist provider of hydraulic hose replacement and fluid power solutions who are looking to recruit a Mobile Field Service Engineer to join their growing Northampton team.

No previous hydraulic experience is required. Full training will be provided to engineers with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.

The Role

As a Mobile Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering a professional on-site repair and maintenance service to customers across a range of industries including manufacturing, logistics, construction, agriculture and transport.

Working independently in a customer-facing position, you'll diagnose faults, carry out repairs and help keep critical machinery and equipment operational.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend customer sites to diagnose and repair hydraulic hose and fluid power equipment failures.
• Carry out on-site hose replacement, assembly and repair work.
• Deliver a fast and effective breakdown service to minimise customer downtime.
• Participate in a 24-hour on-call rota, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Build strong customer relationships and provide a professional service at all times.
• Promote company products and services where appropriate.
• Maintain stock levels within the service vehicle to maximise first-time fixes.
• Complete vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
• Accurately complete service reports and technical documentation.
• Support workshop and service centre operations when required.
• Attend training courses and ongoing development programmes.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in a mechanical, electrical, maintenance or engineering environment.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Practical hands-on engineering ability.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Professional and reliable approach.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable but Not Essential

• Hydraulic hose or fluid power experience.
• Mobile service engineering experience.
• Experience working on forklifts, plant machinery, HGVs, agricultural equipment, automotive systems or industrial machinery.

Full hydraulic training will be provided for candidates with transferable engineering skills and a positive attitude.
