About the Role
We are working with a FMCG organisation and helping them to find the next shining star for their HR Team. We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join a People & Culture team. Acting as a key point of contact for managers and employees across the business, you will provide expert HR guidance, support employee relations matters, and help deliver our people strategy.
Working closely with the HR Business Partner, you will play a vital role in supporting the business through the full employee lifecycle, ensuring HR best practice and employment law compliance while helping to create a positive and engaging workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
As an HR Advisor, you will:
- Deliver a professional and customer-focused HR advisory service across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
- Provide advice and guidance to managers on HR policies, procedures, and people-related matters, including employee relations, probation management, performance management, and absence issues.
- Manage a varied employee relations caseload, providing practical and legally compliant solutions.
- Keep the HR Business Partner informed of employee relations trends, risks, and case updates, recommending appropriate actions.
- Review, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures across the business.
- Manage and monitor absence records, including long and short-term absences, welfare meetings, and Occupational Health referrals.
- Provide day-to-day HR administration, including contractual changes, maintaining employee records, managing the HR inbox, and responding to employee queries.
- Support the HR Coordinator with the administration of family-friendly policies and processes.
- Maintain accurate employee records within HR and time management systems.
- Produce and provide regular KPI and management information reports.
- Attend daily operational and factory review meetings as required.
- Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programmes, employee forums, surveys, and internal communications.
- Contribute to the delivery of HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor or HR Generalist position.
- CIPD Level 3 qualification or be actively working towards it.
- Strong employee relations experience, including handling both routine and complex cases.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels, from shop floor employees to senior stakeholders.
- A customer-focused approach and the confidence to provide clear and practical HR advice.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Intermediate Excel skills would be advantageous.
- Experience using HRIS and Time & Attendance systems would be beneficial.
- Additional European language skills would be an advantage.
