Location: Cambridgeshire (Hybrid Working Available)
Salary: £25,500 - £27,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established and growing professional services firm, is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career in accountancy and bookkeeping, with study support available and clear opportunities for progression.

The successful candidate will manage the bookkeeping requirements of a varied portfolio of clients while working closely with the wider accounts team to deliver accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the bookkeeping requirements for a portfolio of clients.
  • Processing sales and purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Performing regular bank reconciliations.
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  • Responding to client queries via telephone, email and in person.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous bookkeeping experience and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.
  • Experience within an accountancy practice environment, although this is not essential.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based accounting software, particularly Xero.
  • Experience with Sage would be advantageous, although full training can be provided.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients would be beneficial.
