A well-established and growing engineering and fabrication company based in Nottingham is looking for an experienced and skilled Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator to join its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual with experience in sheet metal fabrication who takes pride in producing high-quality work and is looking to develop their career within a professional engineering and fabrication environment.

The Role

As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for manufacturing and assembling a range of sheet metal components and fabricated parts to detailed drawings and required specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Measure, mark out, cut, form and fabricate sheet metal components.

  • Operate sheet metal machinery and fabrication equipment.

  • Carry out folding, bending, drilling, cutting and forming operations.

  • Assemble and finish fabricated components to a high standard.

  • Work with a variety of metals and sheet materials.

  • Carry out quality checks to ensure components meet required standards.

  • Identify and report any issues with materials, dimensions or finished components.

  • Work closely with other members of the fabrication and engineering team.

  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.

  • Follow company health and safety and quality procedures at all times.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Sheet Metal Worker, Sheet Metal Fabricator or similar role is essential.

  • Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

  • Experience working with sheet metal and associated fabrication techniques.

  • Good understanding of measurements, tolerances and specifications.

  • Experience using hand tools and sheet metal machinery.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Reliable, punctual and hardworking.

  • A practical, problem-solving approach.

  • Experience within aerospace, engineering or precision fabrication would be highly advantageous.
