Assistant Warehouse Manager

Salary: £32,000 – £37,000 DOE

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Warehouse Manager to join a well-established business and support the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse operation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor, Team Leader or Assistant Manager who is looking to take the next step in their career.

Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, you’ll help lead the warehouse team, coordinate daily workloads and ensure orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time. This is a hands-on position, so we’re looking for someone who is comfortable leading from the front and getting involved when needed.

The Role

As Assistant Warehouse Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Warehouse Manager with the daily running of the warehouse
  • Leading, motivating and supporting the warehouse team
  • Planning and prioritising workloads to meet deadlines
  • Overseeing the accurate receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of stock
  • Maintaining stock accuracy and investigating discrepancies
  • Ensuring high standards of housekeeping, organisation and health & safety
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations
  • Supporting quality and compliance procedures
  • Maintaining accurate stock records and product traceability
  • Assisting with internal and external audits
  • Identifying opportunities to improve warehouse processes and efficiency
  • Providing cover for the Warehouse Manager when required

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Previous warehouse supervisory, team leader or management experience
  • Experience leading and motivating a warehouse team
  • Strong organisational and workload planning skills
  • Confident communication skills
  • Good IT skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive, hands-on approach
  • Strong awareness of health & safety and quality standards

Desirable:

  • Counterbalance and/or Flexi forklift licences
  • Experience within packaging, manufacturing, distribution or logistics
  • Experience working within a quality-controlled or regulated warehouse environment

Package

  • £32,000 – £37,000 depending on experience
