Senior Accountant

Salary: £32,500 per year Commission Upto £45,000 OTE
Location: Wimborne
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am to 5:30pm

An exciting opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a busy, fast‑paced practice environment in Wimborne. This role suits someone who is AAT, ACCA or ACA qualified (part or fully) and confident working within a practice setting.

 

Role Overview

You will manage a varied portfolio of clients, delivering exceptional service and ensuring all deadlines and expectations are consistently met. The position offers a blend of client interaction, technical review work, and team leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Client portfolio management — overseeing a range of clients and ensuring service excellence.

  • Client service delivery — managing day‑to‑day client needs and maintaining strong relationships.

  • New client meetings — attending consultations and preparing accurate quotes.

  • Team supervision — training and supporting junior staff across bookkeeping, VAT and accounts production.

  • Workflow allocation — booking in jobs and distributing workloads effectively.

  • Deadline management — ensuring VAT returns and accounts are filed on time.

  • Statutory accounts review — reviewing accounts and corporation tax computations.

  • SLA monitoring — tracking internal service levels and reporting performance.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Practice experience — minimum of 3 years within an accountancy practice.

  • Client management — at least 1 year of direct client‑facing experience.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency — confident using Excel, Word and Outlook.

  • Training and mentoring — experience developing junior team members.
