Location: Ashford, Kent
Salary: £28,000 per annum

About the Role

*Very fiddly, accuracy based role where smaller, steady hands are strongly beneficial*

We are currently recruiting a Machine Operative to join a busy and well‑established automotive components manufacturer based in Ashford. This role is primarily focused on operating a press machine used to cut joints for car gaskets, producing precision components for the automotive industry.

This is a precision based role that requires a high level of accuracy, focus, and attention to detail, as the quality of the finished product depends heavily on correct alignment and machine operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a press machine to cut joints into car gaskets
• Carefully placing gaskets into the machine and aligning them perfectly before pressing
• Ensuring all components meet quality and accuracy standards
• Carrying out regular visual quality checks during production
• Following all health & safety procedures at all times
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area
• Completing production paperwork where required
• Assisting with occasional picking and packing duties (secondary to the main machine work)

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment (preferred but not essential)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
• Good hand‑eye coordination
• Comfortable working with machinery after training
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

Full training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude and work ethic.
