Design Engineer (AutoCAD / SolidWorks

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our team. This role combines office-based design work with hands-on site involvement, giving you the opportunity to see your designs come to life. You will be responsible for designing structural solutions and supporting projects across the local area.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D designs using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks

• Design and develop structural components and systems

• Attend site visits to take measurements, assess conditions, and support installations

• Work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients

• Modify and improve designs based on site requirements and feedback

• Ensure all designs meet industry standards and safety regulations

Requirements

• Experience using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks

• Background in structural design or engineering

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

• Comfortable working both in an office and on-site environments

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Good communication and teamwork abilities

• Full UK driving licence (preferred)

Desirable Skills

• Experience with structural steel, frameworks, or building systems

• Knowledge of local construction standards and regulations

• Previous site experience
