We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded client within the fragrance and consumer products industry for an Applications Laboratory Technician. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive, fast‑paced laboratory team that plays a vital role in developing fine fragrance, personal care, and household applications.

Role Purpose

The successful candidate will prepare high‑quality application samples for customer briefs, support UK perfumers and developers, and provide daily new fragrance reference oils for BX QC. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone methodical, organised, and eager to develop within a scientific environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare application samples for fine fragrance, personal care, and household products in line with customer briefs.
  • Support UK perfumers and developers by producing accurate and timely applications.
  • Supply BX QC with daily “new fragrance reference oils.”
  • Maintain and update fragrance stock levels using PV.
  • Ensure the laboratory remains clean, organised, and compliant with good laboratory practices.
  • Accurately dispense fragrance oils into finished products while meeting project deadlines.
  • Maintain a tidy and contamination‑free fragrance library.
  • Deliver completed samples to project initiators within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
  • Communicate with initiators, perfumers, and the Laboratory Manager regarding any issues that may impact deadlines.
  • Assist with maintaining stock levels of laboratory consumables including jars, bottles, and related materials.

Skills & Attributes Required

Qualifications

  • A degree in a relevant scientific field, or current study toward one, is advantageous but not essential.

  • Competent computer literacy.
  • Excellent time management and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
