Welding Inspector / Coordinator (CSWIP Qualified) Leeds

 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Welding Inspector / Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring welding activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct visual inspections of welds in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Coordinate welding activities and support production teams to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Review and interpret welding procedures, WPS, PQRs, and welder qualifications.
  • Complete and maintain detailed inspection reports, NCRs, and quality documentation.
  • Monitor and verify consumables, materials, heat treatment cycles, and traceability.
  • Liaise with project managers, QA/QC teams, and external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and promote a strong safety culture.

Skills & Experience

  • CSWIP 3.1/3.2 certification (essential).
  • Proven experience in welding inspection within [fabrication / heavy industry / oil & gas / construction].
  • Strong working knowledge of industry codes (e.g., ISO, EN, ASME).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
