Chemical Production Operative – Temp to Perm

Location: Birkenhead Docks
Pay Rate: £13.21 per hour
Shift: 1:00pm – 11:00pm
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent | Full-Time


The Role

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is currently recruiting for a Chemical Production Operative to join their growing production team on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with manufacturing or chemical handling experience who are looking for long-term employment with progression opportunities.

The successful candidate will support the safe and efficient preparation of chemical batches while ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health & safety requirements are consistently met.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out tank start-up and chemical mixing operations in line with production procedures

  • Follow batch sheets and mixing instructions accurately

  • Operate production equipment including mixers, pumps, meters, scales, and FLTs

  • Measure and monitor raw material usage to ensure correct batch quantities

  • Return unused materials to stock with correct labelling and documentation

  • Test water solutions for pH levels and conductivity

  • Safely unload chemical and bulk solvent deliveries

  • Complete production and batch paperwork accurately

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety at all times


Requirements

  • Valid and in-date FLT (Forklift Truck) licence

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment

  • Experience working with chemicals or blending processes preferred

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures

  • Good communication skills

  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work as part of a team
