Field Service Engineer (Agricultural & Plant Fitter)

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 (OTE £45,000+ with overtime & callouts)
Location: St Clears, Wales
Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00

The Role

As a Mobile Agricultural Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of agricultural machinery and supporting plant equipment. You’ll work on everything from tractors, telehandlers and balers to combines, sprayers, implements and on‑farm excavators.

This is a varied role with a strong focus on field-based diagnostics, supporting farms across Wales to minimise downtime and keep machinery running during peak seasons.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to urgent on‑farm breakdowns and carrying out mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs
  • Performing scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on agricultural machinery
  • Diagnosing faults across engines, hydraulics, CANbus, PTO systems, transmissions and electrics
  • Repairing and maintaining implements such as mowers, cultivators, trailers, balers and spreaders
  • Completing service sheets, inspection forms and accurate maintenance reports
  • Supporting workshop repairs including rebuilds, overhauls and pre-season machinery preparation
  • Attending farm sites across Wales as part of the mobile service team

What We’re Looking For

  • Background as an Agricultural Engineer, Agricultural Fitter, Farm Machinery Technician or similar
  • Strong understanding of agricultural machinery systems including hydraulics, diesel engines and electrical diagnostics
  • Experience working with tractors, telehandlers, combines or modern ag‑tech systems
  • Relevant industry qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship or equivalent)
  • Ability to work independently on both mobile and workshop-based engineering tasks
  • Full UK Driving Licence
