The Role

As a Lead Engineer / Agricultural Engineering Foreman, you will oversee day‑to‑day engineering operations across both field and workshop environments. This senior role involves coordinating jobs, mentoring engineers, and being the technical escalation point for complex diagnostics and breakdowns across Wales.

You’ll work with a full range of agricultural machinery including tractors, telehandlers, combines, balers, sprayers, loaders, implements, and supporting plant equipment such as excavators used on farms.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and guiding a team of agricultural engineers and apprentices
  • Allocating workloads and supporting service planning for field and workshop tasks
  • Overseeing pre‑season preparation, major repairs, rebuilds & component overhauls
  • Attending on‑farm breakdowns and providing specialist support to customers
  • Ensuring all maintenance records, service sheets and inspection forms are completed accurately
  • Upholding workshop organisation, safety standards and engineering best practices

What We’re Looking For

  • Background as a Senior Agricultural Engineer, Foreman, Lead Technician or similar
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diagnostic knowledge of modern agricultural machinery
  • Experience working with tractors, harvest equipment, telehandlers, sprayers & implements
  • Relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship or equivalent)
  • Confident leading a team, mentoring junior engineers and managing workloads
  • Ability to work independently across both workshop and field environments
  • Full UK Driving Licence
