About the Company

Our client is a leading automotive engineering and manufacturing specialist, supplying high‑precision components to major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers. With continued investment in modern machinery and automation, they are expanding their machining capabilities and seeking an experienced CNC 5‑Axis Programmer to join their high‑performance team.

The Role

This is a hands‑on CNC programming position focused on producing complex, tight‑tolerance components using Haas 5‑axis milling machines. You will take full ownership of programming, setting, and optimising machining operations while ensuring exceptional quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Create, edit, and optimise CNC programmes for 5‑axis Haas machines.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
  • Set, operate, and prove out new programmes prior to production.
  • Select appropriate tooling, workholding, and machining strategies.
  • Work to tight tolerances required in automotive and motorsport environments.
  • Conduct first‑off inspections and collaborate with quality teams to verify compliance.
  • Improve cycle times and machining efficiency through continuous optimisation.
  • Maintain machine performance and support routine maintenance.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a CNC 5‑Axis Programmer.
  • Strong proficiency with Haas controls (Haas 5‑axis experience is essential).
  • Background in automotive, motorsport, aerospace, or other precision-engineering sectors.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
  • Strong understanding of tooling, fixturing, feeds/speeds, and machining best practices.
  • Competent in producing tight-tolerance, high‑finish components.
  • CAM software experience (Fusion 360, Mastercam, Hypermill, or similar) is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
