Job Title: Technical Compliance Manager

Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Technical Compliance Manager to lead the compliance function at a busy production site. This role is critical in ensuring that all food safety, quality, and health and safety standards are consistently met and exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical compliance function, ensuring adherence to all legislative and industry standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers on food safety and quality matters.
  • Maintain and improve systems such as GMP, HACCP, and COSHH.
  • Manage and respond to third-party and customer audits, including timely resolution of non-conformances.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee internal audits and ensure robust traceability and crisis management systems are in place.
  • Ensure all product specifications are accurate and up to date.
  • Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage and develop the QA team, including training and performance reviews.

Planning & Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and maintain the Quality Management System.
  • Monitor trends in product quality and production performance.
  • Ensure calibration and maintenance of equipment to required standards.
  • Maintain compliance of raw materials and finished products with specifications.
  • Audit factory processes and hygiene standards regularly.

Health & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with COSHH and other health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments for new machinery and operations.
  • Maintain up-to-date risk assessments and safe working practices.

Training & Development:

  • Deliver quality-focused training across all levels of factory staff.
  • Stay informed on changes in food safety and labeling legislation.
  • Support the professional development of the QA team.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience in a technical or compliance role within a food production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., BRC, HACCP).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage audits and customer relationships effectively.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and team development.
