The Role
This position offers full ownership of CNC programming within a fast‑paced, high‑precision environment. You will be responsible for producing intricate, tight‑tolerance components on Haas 5‑axis milling machines, driving performance, accuracy, and efficiency across all machining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and optimise CNC programmes for 5‑axis Haas machines.
- Interpret detailed engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation.
- Set, operate, and prove out programmes from concept to production readiness.
- Specify tooling, fixturing, and machining strategies for complex components.
- Work consistently to demanding tolerances required within automotive and motorsport manufacturing.
- Conduct first‑off inspections and collaborate closely with quality teams to ensure compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cycle times and machining efficiency.
- Support the upkeep and performance of machinery through routine maintenance tasks.
Skills & Experience Required
- Demonstrable experience as a CNC 5‑Axis Programmer.
- Strong proficiency with Haas controls, including proven 5‑axis capability.
- Background in automotive, motorsport, aerospace, or other precision‑engineering sectors.
- Expert ability to read and interpret intricate engineering drawings.
- Deep knowledge of tooling, workholding, feeds, speeds, and best‑practice machining methods.
- Capable of producing highly accurate, high‑finish components to stringent tolerances.
- CAM experience (Fusion 360, Mastercam, Hypermill, or similar) is advantageous but not essential.
- A meticulous, problem‑solving mindset with an uncompromising focus on quality.
