Apprentice Welder Fabricator/ Assembly
Location: Peterborough
Our client is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Welder Fabricator to join their growing engineering team in Peterborough.
This is an excellent opportunity to begin a career in engineering while gaining valuable hands-on experience alongside skilled and experienced professionals. You will receive practical, on-the-job training in welding, fabrication, and assembly, while working towards a recognised qualification.
What You'll Be Doing

Learn and develop skills in the fabrication and welding of a range of metal components.

Assist with the assembly and initial build of bespoke engineering products and components.

Support the team with assembly initiation, including preparing components, checking parts, and assisting with initial assembly processes.

Learn to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and assembly instructions with guidance from experienced colleagues.

Assist with fitting, assembling, and finishing fabricated components to the required standards.

Develop practical skills in MIG and TIG welding techniques.

Learn to safely operate a range of workshop tools, machinery, and fabrication equipment.

Work alongside experienced fabricators and engineers to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Carry out basic quality checks on fabricated and assembled components.

Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment in accordance with company procedures.
What We're Looking For

A genuine interest in engineering, welding, fabrication, assembly, or manufacturing.

A willingness to learn and develop practical engineering skills.

Good practical ability with strong attention to detail.

A positive attitude and strong work ethic.

The ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.

An interest in understanding how components are fabricated, fitted, and assembled into finished products.

GCSEs or equivalent qualifications, particularly Maths and English, are desirable.
