Stock Controller

Location: Northampton

Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday: 08:00-17:00 Friday: 08:00-13:00

Salary: £27,000-£31,000 depending on experience

 

Interaction Recruitment are hiring for an experienced Stock Controller for our Engineering client in Northampton. 

 

If you are organised, detail-oriented, and ready to take on a key role in managing stock and inventory? We are currently seeking a Stock Controller to join their dynamic operations team. Full training will be provided, and all tasks will be competency assessed to ensure your success in the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate all company equipment in line with job requirements.
  • Coordinate logistics of purchase orders, stock transfers, deliveries, and stock processing.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee incoming/outgoing shipments.
  • Conduct regular physical stock audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Unpack, store, and locate new inventory upon arrival.
  • Ensure correct and accurate location of all stock, materials, and finished goods.
  • Issue materials to works orders and manage returns of excess materials.
  • Identify and report obsolete or damaged stock.
  • Organise prompt return of non-conforming materials.
  • Monitor and enforce FIFO (First-In, First-Out) procedures.
  • Track material shelf life and follow expiry protocols.
  • Generate and analyse stock reports, investigating discrepancies.
  • Keep stock storage areas clean, organised, and safe.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding stock levels and issues.
  • Liaise across departments to maintain high stock accuracy and organisation.
  • Perform monthly PI (Perpetual Inventory) checks.
  • Manage stock movements to and from external storage locations.
  • Continuously review and suggest improvements to operating procedures.
