Are you an experienced MIG / TIG Welder or Fabricator looking for a well-paid, permanent position with a growing engineering company?

Interaction Recruitment is working with an established engineering and manufacturing business in Saffron Walden that is looking to add a skilled Welder Fabricator to its team.

Offering a salary of up to £42,000 per year, this is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of interesting, bespoke fabrication projects rather than carrying out the same repetitive production work every day.

The company manufactures specialist metal products for industries including medical and defence, giving you the chance to work on projects from initial fabrication through to final assembly and installation.

The role is mainly workshop-based, with occasional pre-planned visits to customer sites.

What You'll Be Doing

• MIG and TIG welding on a variety of metal components.

• Fabricating bespoke steel products, doors and assemblies.

• Working from engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.

• Measuring, cutting, preparing, welding and finishing materials.

• Using workshop equipment such as band saws, pillar drills, grinders and hand tools.

• Assembling and checking finished products to ensure high-quality standards.

• Supporting the workshop team with different fabrication projects.

• Occasionally attending customer sites for pre-planned fabrication or installation work.

• Maintaining a safe and organised working environment.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Welder, MIG Welder, TIG Welder, Fabricator or Welder Fabricator.

• Good practical MIG and TIG welding skills.

• Experience working in a fabrication or engineering workshop.

• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.

• Confidence using general workshop machinery and tools.

• Good attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Willingness to carry out occasional pre-planned off-site work.

• Full UK driving licence.

Experience fabricating bespoke products, steel doors or specialist engineering components would be an advantage.
