HR Administrator

Location: Peterborough
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9:00am–5:15pm; Friday, 9:00am–4:00pm
Contract: Initial three-month temporary contract, with the possibility of an extension or permanent opportunity
Working arrangement: Office-based during onboarding, then three days in the office and two days working from home once settled into the role

We’re looking for a proactive HR Administrator to join a small, growing HR department at a well-established business in Peterborough. You’ll be the first point of contact for HR administration, supporting the HR Officer and HR Business Partner with the day-to-day running of the department.

This role would suit someone with a strong can-do attitude who is organised, approachable and happy to pitch in where needed.

The role

• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR Officer and HR Business Partner

• Act as the first point of contact for routine HR queries, directing more complex matters to the appropriate person

• Maintain accurate employee records and update HR systems

• Support recruitment administration, including arranging interviews and preparing new starter paperwork

• Assist with onboarding, inductions and leaver processes

• Prepare letters, contracts and other HR documents

• Record absence, holidays and changes to employee details

• Provide accurate information to payroll

• Keep training records and compliance documents up to date

• Help keep HR processes and paperwork organised as the department grows

What we’re looking for

• Previous administration experience; HR experience would be an advantage

• A strong can-do attitude and willingness to support a small team

• Good organisation and attention to detail

• Clear communication skills and a helpful, approachable manner

• Confidence handling confidential information

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

• The ability to manage changing priorities and meet deadlines

• CIPD Level 3 would be desirable, but is not essential
