Interaction Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Yard Operative / Forklift Driver to join a busy recycling operation in Chalgrove. If you're a confident forklift operator who takes pride in working safely, efficiently and accurately, this could be the perfect next step for you!

With a starting rate of £12.71 per hour and the opportunity to increase to£14.00 per hour depending on performance, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to prove themselves, develop their skills and be rewarded for their hard work.

What will you be doing?

You'll play a key role in keeping the yard running safely and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating a forklift truck confidently and safely within a busy yard.

• Loading and unloading incoming and outgoing vehicles, including HGVs, trailers and shipping containers.

• Handling and moving recyclable materials into the correct storage and processing areas.

• Checking delivery notes, collection paperwork and loading documentation.

• Recording relevant vehicle, material, weight and quantity information accurately.

• Carrying out pre-use forklift checks and reporting any defects.

• Following all site health and safety procedures, including PPE and traffic management requirements.

• Keeping the yard clean, tidy and safe for colleagues and visiting drivers.

What are we looking for?

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

• A valid forklift truck licence and excellent practical forklift driving experience.

• Proven experience loading and unloading HGVs, trailers and/or containers.

• A good understanding of safe loading procedures and workplace health and safety.

• The ability to read delivery notes and complete paperwork accurately.

• A reliable, responsible approach to work, with excellent timekeeping.

• The confidence to work safely around HGVs, machinery and other yard activity.

• A willingness to work outdoors in a busy recycling environment, where conditions can sometimes be dusty or dirty.

Previous experience in recycling, waste management, warehousing or an industrial yard would be advantageous. Experience with walking floor trailers, curtain-side trailers and shipping containers would also be beneficial.
