Interaction Technical is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing engineering business specialising in automated machinery, material handling equipment, and end-of-line production systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Service Engineer, Plant Engineer, Production Engineer, or Field Service Engineer looking to move into a customer-facing field-based role. Full product training will be provided.

Working across a variety of manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and industrial environments, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, installing, and commissioning a range of automated equipment and machinery throughout the UK.

Overtime Rates

• Monday to Friday after 5pm: Standard hourly rate
• Saturday until 12pm: 1.5x rate
• Saturday after 12pm and Sunday: Double time

The Role

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be responsible for servicing and supporting automated machinery and equipment at customer sites across the UK.

Duties Include:

• Mechanical and electrical fault finding
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Breakdown diagnosis and repair
• Installation and commissioning of machinery
• Equipment upgrades and optimisation
• Supporting customers with technical issues
• Completing service reports and documentation
• Ensuring high levels of customer service and support

Typical Equipment Includes:

• Automated machinery and production equipment
• Conveyors and material handling systems
• Packaging and wrapping machinery
• Strapping and banding equipment
• Motors, drives, sensors, pneumatics, and control systems
• Other industrial automation and electromechanical equipment

About You

We are keen to speak with engineers from a variety of backgrounds, including:

• Manufacturing
• Production
• Maintenance
• FMCG
• Food processing
• Packaging
• Logistics and distribution
• Materials handling
• Plant and equipment maintenance
• Automated machinery

You will ideally have:

• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding experience
• Experience maintaining, repairing, or servicing industrial machinery or equipment
• A recognised engineering qualification (Level 3 or above preferred)
• Good communication and customer-facing skills
• A full UK driving licence
• Willingness to travel throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays

Previous field service experience is beneficial but not essential. Engineers with strong maintenance or manufacturing backgrounds who are looking to transition into field service are encouraged to apply.
