Class 2 HGV Driver – Flatbed Metal Deliveries

Location: Letchworth
Pay: £17.50 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
Job Type: Full-time

We are currently looking for an experienced and reliable Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team in Letchworth, delivering sheets of metal to customers and sites across the local and surrounding areas.

This is a Monday to Friday role, offering regular hours and no weekend work. The job is straightforward and well suited to a driver looking for consistent weekday work.

The Role

• Driving a Class 2 flatbed vehicle
• Delivering sheets of metal to customers and various sites
• Loading and securing loads safely before leaving the yard
• Using straps and appropriate securing equipment to safely secure metal sheets
• Carrying out basic vehicle checks before and after shifts
• Ensuring deliveries are made safely and on time
• Completing delivery paperwork and obtaining customer signatures where required
• Maintaining a professional and courteous approach with customers
• Following all relevant road safety, transport and company procedures
• Reporting any vehicle or load-related issues to management

Working Hours & Pay

• Monday to Friday
• Approximately 8 hours per day
• £17.50 per hour
• Regular daytime work
• No weekend work

Requirements

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence
• CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Previous Class 2 driving experience
• Experience with flatbed vehicles is preferred
• Experience securing loads with straps is an advantage
• Good understanding of load safety and securing procedures
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• Good communication skills
• A good knowledge of road safety and vehicle checks
