Mouldshop Setter – Nights | Temp to Perm

Location: Harlow, Essex
Salary: £30,000–£40,000 per annum once permanent, depending on experience
Job Type: Temp to Perm
Shift: Initially days for training, then nights

We are recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing business based in Harlow for an experienced Mouldshop Setter to join their team.

This is a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity. The successful candidate will initially work day shifts for approximately two weeks to complete training and become familiar with the machinery, tooling and company processes before moving onto the permanent night shift.

The Role

Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will help ensure the smooth and efficient running of the mouldshop, supporting production and ensuring jobs are set up correctly and ready for operators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting and starting injection moulding jobs.

  • Installing and setting moulds using clamps, bolts and hand tools.

  • Moving and lifting moulds using forklifts and gantry equipment.

  • Setting machine controls, including temperature, pressure and cycle times.

  • Ensuring the correct materials are available and added before production starts.

  • Preparing production jobs and ensuring operators understand the job requirements.

  • Monitoring production and ensuring quality standards are maintained.

  • Troubleshooting injection moulding and machine issues.

  • Carrying out basic machine maintenance.

  • Reporting machine breakdowns where further engineering support is required.

  • Carrying out quality checks and identifying product defects.

  • Following quality documentation and production procedures.

  • Ensuring finished products are correctly labelled.

  • Ensuring regrind materials are correctly labelled.

  • Providing cover for mouldshop operators when required.

  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised mouldshop.

  • Following all company health and safety procedures.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Mould Setter within an injection moulding environment.

  • Strong technical understanding of injection moulding processes.

  • Experience with mould and tooling installation and setting.

  • Good knowledge of injection moulding machine controls and settings.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience using hand tools.

  • Forklift experience is desirable.

  • Experience using gantry equipment would be advantageous.

  • Ability to carry out basic mechanical maintenance.

  • Good understanding of quality requirements and inspection.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • A strong commitment to health and safety.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mouldshop Setter looking for a long-term position within an established manufacturing environment.

The role will begin on day shifts for approximately two weeks to allow for training and familiarisation. Following this initial period, the successful candidate will move onto the night shift.

The position is offered on a temp-to-perm basis, providing the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.
