Job Title: Multi-Skilled Engineer – Manual Turning & Milling / CNC Milling Programmer

Location: Letchworth Garden City

Salary: £18.00–£25.00 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

My client is currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join an established precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Letchworth Garden City.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer with a strong background in manual turning and milling, together with CNC milling programming and CAD experience.

The successful candidate will be involved in producing precision components, working from engineering drawings and using a range of manual and CNC machining equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manual turning and milling of precision components

  • CNC milling and programming

  • Creating and modifying CNC programmes

  • Using CAD software to design and prepare machining work

  • Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications

  • Setting and operating CNC milling machinery

  • Producing one-off components and small to medium production batches

  • Selecting appropriate tooling and machining methods

  • Checking dimensions and ensuring components meet required specifications

  • Carrying out general machining and engineering duties

  • Maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy

  • Working safely and keeping the workshop and machinery organised

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, Machinist or similar

  • Strong manual turning experience

  • Strong manual milling experience

  • CNC milling programming experience

  • CAD experience

  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings

  • Good understanding of machining processes and precision engineering

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail and quality

Desirable

  • Experience working with one-off and small-batch precision components

  • Experience with a range of engineering materials

  • CNC setting and operating experience

  • Experience within a toolmaking or precision engineering environment

The Package

  • £18.00–£25.00 per hour depending on experience

  • Monday to Friday

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Permanent position
