Warehouse Operative / Counterbalance Forklift Driver
Location: Bedford
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, from 7:00am
Contract: Temp-to-Perm
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Operative / Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join a busy and growing team in Bedford.
This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and hardworking individual with previous warehouse and counterbalance forklift experience who is looking for stable, long-term employment with the potential to secure a permanent position.
Working Monday to Friday with an early 7:00am start, you will play an important role in the safe handling, preparation and movement of materials across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out a range of general warehouse duties.
- Loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently.
- Operating a counterbalance forklift.
- Operating machinery, including a band saw for cutting metal.
- Preparing, handling and moving materials around the site.
- Driving a company van when required.
- Ensuring the warehouse and working areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.
- Following all company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Carrying out manual handling duties safely and responsibly.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence – essential.
- A full UK Driving Licence – essential.
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Experience operating machinery, or the confidence to learn new equipment.
- A good understanding of workplace health and safety.
- The physical fitness required for manual handling and warehouse duties.
- A reliable, punctual and hardworking approach.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
