Calibrating Technician

Location: Northampton, Brackmills
Pay: £14.00 per hour
Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 07:45 - 16:30
  • Friday: 07:45 - 12:45

Interaction Recruitment are seeking a practical and motivated Calibrating Technician to join our engingeering clients growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach who enjoys working with precision equipment and problem-solving.

The Role

As a Calibrating Technician, you will be responsible for the inspection, calibration, repair and assembly of specialist railway measuring equipment and track gauges.

Your duties will include:

  • Calibrating specialist railway measuring equipment
  • Measuring and testing track gauge equipment
  • Carrying out repairs and adjustments
  • Mechanical assembly of components and sub-assemblies
  • Recording calibration results and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Inspecting equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Following workshop procedures and health & safety requirements

Calibrations are detailed and methodical, typically taking several hours to complete, making this role ideal for someone who takes pride in accurate and high-quality work.

What We're Looking For

  • Mechanical knowledge or engineering experience
  • Good practical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow technical procedures
  • Experience using hand tools and measuring equipment
  • A methodical approach to work
  • Strong problem-solving skills and common sense
  • Previous experience in calibration, assembly, maintenance, repair or engineering environments would be advantageous but is not essential
