Warehouse Operative – Loading & Unloading

Location: Birmingham
Hours: 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Holiday: 28 days annual leave, including bank holidays

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a busy and hardworking team based in Birmingham. This is a hands-on role, with the majority of the work involving the loading and unloading containers.

The role is physically demanding and involves regular lifting, moving and handling of goods, so we are looking for someone who is physically fit, reliable and prepared to work hard throughout the day.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking for long-term work, with the potential to secure a permanent position following a successful trial period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading containers
  • Manually moving and handling stock and goods
  • Ensuring products are loaded, unloaded and stored safely
  • Organising stock within containers and the warehouse
  • Checking goods for accuracy and any visible damage
  • Picking products using a hand-held scanner when required
  • Moving stock around the warehouse
  • Preparing products and orders for dispatch
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised working environment
  • Following all company health & safety procedures
  • Working efficiently as part of a team to meet daily requirements
  • Supporting with other warehouse duties when required

About You

We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative who isn't afraid of physical work and is happy to get stuck in.

As the container loading and unloading makes up a large part of the role, you will need to be physically fit and comfortable with manual handling. The work can be repetitive and demanding at times, so good stamina and a positive attitude are essential.

Previous warehouse, container or manual handling experience would be an advantage, but it's not essential. What's most important is that you are dependable, willing to learn and have a strong work ethic.

You will ideally:

  • Be physically fit and able to carry out manual handling duties
  • Have good stamina and a strong work ethic
  • Be reliable and punctual
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Have good attention to detail
  • Be able to follow instructions and work safely
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Have a flexible and positive attitude
  • Be willing to support with a variety of warehouse duties

What We Offer

  • £12.71 per hour
  • 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday
  • 28 days annual leave, including bank holidays
  • Temporary-to-permanent opportunity
  • Permanent position available following a successful trial period
  • Full training provided when required
  • Long-term employment opportunity
  • Opportunity to develop further warehouse and logistics skills

If you're reliable, physically fit and looking for a long-term warehouse position in Birmingham, this could be a great opportunity to join a busy and established team.
