Insurance Account Handler

Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE
Hours: Full Time | Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Insurance Account Handler looking to join a well-established and growing insurance brokerage where your knowledge and client service skills are genuinely valued?

We're recruiting on behalf of a respected independent broker who is looking to add an experienced Account Handler to their commercial insurance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a minimum of five years' insurance experience who enjoys building strong client relationships and delivering first-class service.

The Role

Working within a friendly and professional team, you'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial insurance clients, providing expert support throughout the policy lifecycle and ensuring clients receive an exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of commercial insurance clients.
• Handling renewals, mid-term adjustments and new business enquiries.
• Preparing and processing insurance documentation accurately.
• Liaising with insurers to negotiate terms and obtain competitive quotations.
• Providing professional advice on suitable insurance products and cover.
• Responding promptly to client queries by phone and email.
• Building long-term client relationships through outstanding customer service.
• Maintaining accurate records in line with FCA and company compliance requirements.
• Supporting colleagues across the wider team when required.

About You

• Minimum 5 years' experience working as an Insurance Account Handler or within a similar commercial insurance role.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
• Confident working with multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
• Experience using insurance broking systems would be advantageous.
