About the Role

A specialist glazing contractor in Stevenage is looking for a driven and detail‑focused Junior Estimator to join their expanding team. This role is ideal for someone with early-stage construction knowledge who wants to grow within a technical estimating environment. LOGIKAL experience is essential — this is a key requirement for the position.

 

Key Responsibilities as a Junior Estimator

  • Tender Analysis — Extract quantities, measurements, and relevant details from tender packs.

  • Logikal Estimating — Produce accurate estimates using Logikal; you must already have hands‑on experience.

  • CAD Interpretation — Read and interpret CAD drawings to ensure correct dimensions and specifications.

  • Specification Review — Apply project requirements accurately within estimates.

  • Cost Estimation — Assist with quotations, material take‑offs, and cost breakdowns.

  • Team Collaboration — Work closely with senior estimators, project managers, and design teams.

  • Documentation Management — Maintain organised and accurate estimating records.

 

Essential Skills & Experience as a Junior Estimator

  • Construction Knowledge — Ideally within glazing, façades, or similar technical sectors.

  • LOGIKAL — MUST HAVE — Prior, practical experience using Logikal is non‑negotiable.

  • CAD Reading Skills — Ability to interpret drawings; full CAD proficiency is a bonus.

  • Attention to Detail — High accuracy when reviewing technical documents.

  • Numerical Ability — Confident working with measurements and calculations.

  • Communication — Clear written and verbal communication.

  • IT Literacy — Competent with Microsoft Office and industry software.

 

Desirable

  • Experience in glazing, aluminium systems, or construction product sectors.

  • Understanding of installation, fabrication, or project lifecycles.

  • Exposure to estimating, procurement, or technical administration.
