Transport Manager

Location: Andover
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Transport Manager to join our team based in Andover. This is an excellent opportunity for a transport professional looking to take ownership of a busy transport operation and play a key role in ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective delivery of transport services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the transport operation.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant transport legislation, driver hours regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage and support a team of drivers and transport staff.
  • Plan and optimise vehicle routes and fleet utilisation.
  • Monitor transport performance, KPIs, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate transport records and documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, incidents, and customer concerns.
  • Work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure service excellence.
  • Manage vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure fleet roadworthiness.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Transport Manager or similar transport leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of transport legislation, driver hours, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good IT skills and experience using transport management systems.
  • CPC Qualification desirable.
