Experienced Welder Fabricator

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator & On-Site Engineer to join their busy engineering team. This is a varied and hands-on position that combines workshop-based steel fabrication with on-site installation and mechanical repair work across the East Midlands.

Working for an established ISO and UKCA accredited engineering business, the successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of projects for customers across multiple industries. This role would suit someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work, enjoys variety, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabrication and assembly of steelwork and engineered components within the workshop.
  • Installation and fitting of fabricated items at customer sites.
  • Carrying out mechanical repairs and maintenance work as required.
  • Operating fabrication machinery and workshop equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.
  • Working effectively both independently and as part of a wider engineering team.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in welding, fabrication, and on-site engineering work.
  • Experience carrying out installation and fitting work on customer sites.
  • MIG welding experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with fabrication workshop equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong practical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Reliable and capable of working to deadlines.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Own transport is essential.
  • Must be located within a reasonable commuting distance of NG14 7HD.
